History Built as Limande, later renamed Vincenzo G. and Said 
Notes on loss At 05.11 hours on 8 Jun, 1942, U-83 fired two torpedoes at the Said but both missed. The U-boat then surfaced after 19 minutes and sank the ship with 50 rounds from the deck gun 15 miles southwest of Jaffa.
