Notes on event | At 13.24 hours on 24 October 1942 U-383 fired a spread of two G7e torpedoes at the unescorted and zigzagging Jon Olafsson about 100 miles south of Iceland and heard a detonation after 1 minute and then sinking noises. Later the Germans spotted wreckage but found no survivors. The trawler was reported missing after being sighted the last time on 22 October. | ||
