Notes on loss At 14.32 hours on 3 Feb, 1940, the Armanistan (Master Charles Rolls Knight) in convoy OG-16 was torpedoed and sunk by U-25 west of the River Tagus, Portugal. The crew was rescued by the Spanish merchant Monte Abril and landed at Tenerife.
