| History | Completed in August 1912 as Danish April for J. Zimsen, Reykjavik. 1917 taken over by the French Navy as armed trawler Sapajou. 1919 decommissioned and renamed Poitou for civilian use. On 7 Nov, 1942, the Vichy French Poitou was captured by USS Bristol (DD 453) off Fedala, Marocco during the Operation Torch and later used to move troops from the American troop transport USS Leonard Wood (APA 12) to the beachhead. | ||
