History Completed in April 1919 as Braddock for US Shipping Board (USSB). 1937 laid up as reserve. 1941 transferred to Britain and renamed Empire Redshank for Ministry of War Transport (MoWT). 
Notes on event

At 22.20 hours on 22 Feb 1943, U-606 attacked convoy ON-166 east of St. Johns, Newfoundland and torpedoed three ships, the Empire Redshank, Chattanooga City and Expositor. The U-boat was lost after the attack.

At 23.50 hours on 22 February, the badly damaged Empire Redshank (Master John Houston Clinton) was sunk by gunfire by HMCS Trillium (K 172) (Lt P.C. Evans, RCNR) after the corvette had picked up the master, 39 crew members and seven gunners. The survivors were landed at St. Johns.
