| Notes on loss | At 00.20 hours on 22 Feb, 1940, the British Endeavour (Master Thomas Weatherhead) in convoy OGF-19 was torpedoed and sunk by U-50 about 100 miles west of Vigo. Five crew members were lost. The master and 32 crew members were picked up by the British steam merchant Bodnant and landed at Funchal, Maderia on 26 February. | ||
