Notes on loss At 07.07 hours on 25 Mar, 1943, the unescorted Industria was hit by two torpedoes from U-518 and sank by the bow within eight minutes. The master and first engineer were taken prisoner by the U-boat, which misidentified the victim as British steam merchant Industria (4861 tons).
