History On 26 Oct, 1940, the Pegasus was damaged by a mine one mile south of Bar Lightvessel, River Mersey. 
Notes on loss At 22.05 hours on 24 Jul, 1943, the unescorted Pegasus was torpedoed by U-197 and sank in flames southwest off Madagascar.
