History Built as unnamed American destroyer escort DE 276, 1943 lend-leased to Britain and renamed HMS Goodson (K 480) 
Notes on loss At 15.14 hours on 25 Jun, 1944, U-984 fired a Gnat at the ships of the 5th Escort Group and hit the HMS Goodson (K 480) in the stern. She was towed to Portland by HMS Bligh (K 467) and declared a total loss.
