History | Commissioned on 30 November 1917 as German minesweeper M-59 of the Minensuchboot 1916 class. On 2 August 1922 bought by Lithuania, renamed Presidentas Smetona and used as patrol ship, training ship and presidential yacht. On 22 June 1940 the ship was taken over by the Soviet Union and initially renamed Primunas, but in August 1940 taken over by the NKVD as border guard ship in the Second Baltic detachment and renamed Korall. On 19 August 1941 assigned to the Baltic Fleet as minesweeper T-76 Korall. | ||
Notes on event | At 10.25 hours on 11 January 1945, U-745 fired two Gnats at two tugs towing a floating crane and heard two detonations. T-76 Korall was hit and sank off Aegna Island. |
