History Built as Grania, later renamed Monmouth Coast 
Notes on loss At 14.14 hours on 24 Apr, 1945, the unescorted Monmouth Coast (Master Albert Henry Standen) was torpedoed and sunk by U-1305 about 80 miles from Sligo. The master, 13 crew members and two gunners were lost. The sole survivor, messroom boy Derek Cragg, was rescued by Irish fishermen.
