Notes on event

At 22.35 hours on 20 October 1942 the Mahrous was sunk by U-77 with eight rounds from the deck gun about 30 miles west of Chekka, Lebanon. The crew had abandoned ship in a boat and landed at Tripoli in the evening on 21 October.
