Notes on event

On 13 Oct 1942 the Bringhi arrived off Alexandria after being machine-gunned by an U-boat and was put on a reef outside of the harbour, where it sank after breaking up. The survivors of U-559 claimed the sinking of two sailing vessels on the last patrol of the U-boat.
