| Notes on event | At 18.28 hours on 19 July 1940 the Pearlmoor (Master James Basil Rodgers), a straggler from convoy SL-38, was hit by one torpedo from U-62, broke in two and sank 62 miles west of Malin Head. 13 crew members were lost. The master and 25 crew members landed at Gola Island, Co. Donegal. | ||
