| Notes on loss | At 21.08 hours on 30 Sep, 1939, the Gun (Master J.M. Persson) was stopped by U-3 about 30 miles northwest of Hanstholm and a prize commando went on board at 22.00 hours. The ship did not sink after opening the seacocks and placing scuttling charges. At 05.30 hours the next day, the prize commando was removed and the Gun was sunk by one torpedo at 09.10 hours. The survivors were picked up by the Danish steam merchant Dagmar. | ||
