History
Notes on loss At 07.25 hours on 2 Dec, 1940, U-52 attacked the convoy HX-90 about 367 miles west of Bloody Foreland and sank two ships, the Tasso and Goodleigh (Master William Wilson Quaitre). At 07.35 hours, U-52 fired the stern torpedo, which probably hit one of the ships hit in the first attack.

The master, 34 crew members and one gunner from the Goodleigh were picked up by the British destroyer HMS Viscount (D 92) (LtCdr M.S. Townsend OBE DSC) and landed at Liverpool. One crew member was lost.
