History Built as American Eastern Glade for US Shipping Board, Seattle; 1927 sold to American South African Line, New York; 1935 sold to Prudential SS Corp, New York.
On 23 Aug, 1940, given to Britain and renamed Empire Jaguar by Ministry of War Transport (MoWT). 
Notes on loss At 01.32 hours on 9 Dec, 1940, the Empire Jaguar (Master Hywel Tudor Thomas), a straggler from convoy OB-252, was torpedoed and sunk by U-103 296 miles 248° from Slyne Head. The master and 36 crew members were lost.
