| Notes on loss | At 02.47 hours on 30 Jan, 1941, the Rushpool (Master William George Stewart Hewison), a straggler from convoy SC-19, was hit amidships by one torpedo from U-94 southeast of Rockall. The ship had been spotted at 00.40 hours and missed with a spread of two torpedoes at 02.09 hours. She sank by the bow 35 minutes after being hit by a coup de grāce at 03.10 hours. The master and 39 crew members were picked up by HMS Antelope (H 36) (LtCdr R.T. White, DSO and Bar, RN) and landed at Greenock. | ||
