Notes on loss At 21.07 hours on 17 Mar, 1942, U-106 attacked the convoy SL-68 north of the Cape Verde Islands and reported three ships with 21.000 tons sunk and another with 7000 tons damaged. In fact, only two ships, the Andalusian and Tapanoeli were hit and sunk.
