General notes on this boat
On 13 Nov, 1944 the boat collided with the vessel "Saude" (352 tons) south of Bergen, Norway. The ship sank when the U-boat suddenly reversed and removed the bow from the vessel and left a huge hole in its hull causing the vessel to take on water and sink.
Men lost from U-boats
Unlike many other U-boats, which during their service lost men due to accidents and various other causes, U-1052 did not suffer any casualties (we know of) until the time of her loss.
