Fate

Renamed S 6 after being transferred to Italy in exchange for transport vessels. Reverted to Germany as U-430 after the Italian surrender.

Sunk 30 March, 1945 near Bremen, in position 53.08N, 08.46E, by US bombs. 2 dead, unknown number of survivors.

Men lost from U-boats

Unlike many other U-boats, which during their service lost men due to accidents and various other causes, U-430 did not suffer any casualties (we know of) until the time of her loss.
