Sunk on 10 March 1944 in the Mediterranean Sea south of Ostia, in position 41.11N, 12.27E, by depth charges from the British escort destroyers HMS Blankney, HMS Blencathra, HMS Brecon and HMS Exmoor and the US destroyer USS Madison. 51 survivors (no casualties).
