General notes on this boat
15 Sep 1999. On 15 September 1999 the Norwegian minesweeper KNM Tyr located the wreck of U-735 at a depth of 195m (640ft) during a routine training mission in Oslofjord (although it has been suggested the navy was asked to look in that specific spot for the boat). The wreck was filmed by an ROV and is in fine shape apart from some heavy damage to the stern. It lies just off Horten at 59.28,2 N 10.28,7 E.
Men lost from U-boats
Unlike many other U-boats, which during their service lost men due to accidents and various other causes, U-735 did not suffer any casualties (we know of) until the time of her loss.
