I hope you had a peaceful festive season.
I am progressing slowly with 81.
As you know there is some controversy surrounding her positions from apparent sinking position to her position today.
Would you know if these boats were each fitted with a makers plate..? These are normally fitted on the fore end of bridge or wheelhouse, giving ships number etc.
If there is any other positive means of identifying a boat, this would be appreciated.I understand the props were removed, which would have been a good source of id. Possibly engine numbers could be found, as she was new, they would be original, if these could be found in records of build.
