The sinking site for U-509 on 15.07.43 was 34º 02´N 26º 02´W (U-Boat Operations of the 2nd. World War, by Kenneth Wynn) or 34º 02´N 26º 01´W (Uboats destroyed, by Paul Kemp). As you see, these sites are very, very close (less than 1 mile).
