<HTML>\"The L I would not have been awarded because it\'s the L I\'s job to keep the boat running?\" In the Infantry, it\'s the infantryman\'s job to face and outshoot the enemy - but he is rewarded for feats above and beyond the call - EK, DKiG, RK, etc. So, while it may be the L I\'s job to repair the boat, fixing the engines, batteries, sonar, radio, and all associated wiring - all with a broken ventilation system, and within the timeframe constraints of oxygen reserves, in my book at least, constitues \'above and beyond the call.\' Was the Kriegsmarine really so stogy that such efforts would go unrewarded?</HTML>
