U-boat Fates

U-boats turned over to Japan

All subs were handed over in Harwich, UK on 19 Dec 1918 and departed Devonport in two divisions (on 18 Feb and 6 Mar 1919), towed by departing IJN destroyers which had finished their service in European waters. They proceeded to Japan via Mediterranean and the Suez Canal.

Logistical support during the voyage was provided by the depot ship Kwanto. Both groups arrived at Yokosuka on 18 June 1919.

In 1921 all seven were partially dismantled (all armament, machinery and conning towers removed).
