Yes I did win second place with my 1/32nd scale type 7C u-boat,and still have the silver bowl to prove it . Since I build R/C boats I look for colors that are easy to apply, touch up , purchase and hold up to the wear and tear of constant use. therefore I use TESTORS FLAT RED, FLAT BLACK AND FLAT LIGHT GRAY. For these colors are close enough for my needs, My boat is in the water on a constant basis and gets beatup badly from use so I need a paint that I can spray on and have it blend right in. With these spray can paints I can touch up an area and the paint will match every time, with paints in those small round cans like HUMBROL I find that no matter how much I stir the paint it never matches . also I can go anywhere in the U.S. to sail my sub and if I need some paint I will always find these colors. Even though this is a late war U-boat I still use the 3 color combination for 2 reasons ,number one it is for visibility in the water and number two it is a killer color comination ! it catches everyones attention to the boat. I love to sail my boats in very rough water and what a sight to see that red hull bottom crash through a wave !
