I bought this kit a year or so ago and spent many enjoyable weeks putting it together. I am no expert model builder but am happy with the end result, it makes a great centerpiece for my small collectionof U-Boat memorabilia. I think it is well worth the money, just wished they had offered an alternative type conning tower with the later style spray delfector as many of the boats they give you decals for cannot be made with the type of conning tower supplied.
Maybe they will eventually release an alternative with the bigger "Wintergarten" for extra flak - that would make a fabulous model!

I saw in a UK model boat magazine an davertisement for a company who have now made a full hull version for R/C working in co-operation with Accurate Armour.

They also make a Type XXIII, for those with less room to display such huge models!
