Hi Jimmy:

I had one when I was a kid in the 60's. I got it from sending off a box top from Kellogg’s corn-flakes or something like that. I think it was the U.S.S. Nautilus, the first nuclear powered submarine. I played with it daily for many years. You put a little baking soda in the submarine and put it in water (bath-tub) and it would go up and down. The baking soda would make an air bubble and cause the submarine to rise, and then it would tip to one side and sink again to the bottom of the bathtub. A few seconds later it would surface again and the process would start over. Just up and down, no forward or rear movement. I probably used a Semi-truck full of baking powder when I was a kid, playing with my baking powder submarine. Ha! Ha! It was one of my most favorite toys. I still play with toy submarines, but now they are Radio Controlled. (The only difference between men and boys is the price of their toys)
