I did some extensive checking before this answer:
Geee, Jeff, I am not sure. :-))
My plans on the XXI are not detailed enough to show. All the photos I scanned through are not close up enough to show. My guess, flood holes cut into steel covers were most certainly rounded in the corners (not perfect little rectangles), since the rounding of corners relieves material stresses. I.e. good shipbuilding practice. Rgds, RB
