Go to a good hobby shop that deals mainly in trains , there are many hand wheels used on trains that you can use , maybe HO scale ? Remember as long as it looks good it will work just fine . Who is going to use a caliper when looking at your finished boat ? In a back issue of the SUBCOMMITTEE REPORT magazine there is a great story on how to do photo etching , I will try and find it for you .
