Dear Dougie,

Don't make a point out of this. If weatherd it does not matter. No two U-boats look alike as was for instance no olive drab painted airplane the same altough olive drab was the standard colour of vehicles and airplanes on the American side. The colouration was depending on a variaty of circumstances as weather, use, wear and tear, rust, dust etc.etc. Its the same with U-boats, after one day at sea they allready looked different as on the day they were launched.
The standard "Hellgrau 50" for a start is perfect. What happens next is educated guesswork.
