HI MARK,
I AGREE WITH YOUR OTHER REPLY THAT IS OVERALL LIGHT GREY UPPER AND DARK GREY LOWER.
I USED TAMIYA ACRYLIC GERMAN GREY FOR THE LOWER AND RAL7038 FOR THE UPPER.
U552 WAS AN ATLANTIC BOAT (AS YOU PROBABLY KNOW) AND THESE ARE THE CORRECT COLOURS FOR THAT.
RED ON THE LOWER IS INCORRECT AND MANY HAVE MADE THAT MISTAKE!
INCIDENTLY MANY PICTURES SHOW A BLACK OR DARK GREY DECK, I THINK THIS A PHOTO EFFECT DUE TO THE BLACK OF THE DRAINAGE SLOTS.
SOME LATER UBOATS HAD TEAK DECKS DUE TO SHORT SUPPLY OF STEEL (SEE U995 AT LABOE) " I THINK " !!mark wrote:
