SALUT!
I have successfully scratch-built two sets of railing for my Amati U boat. It was a much more labor intensive endeavor than I thought it would be. The methiod of using blue tack to secure the bits of brass rod into place, as suggested by Tony Greenland in his Panzer Modelling test, really worked well. However, i noticed the bonds by the sodder are pretty fragile. My question is how to scratch build railings when the railings must be bent in circular or other non linear shapes? Is there a way to bend the cross bars without snapping the seal made by the sodder? Or should one sodder the brass rods into place AFTER they have already been bent to the proper shape?
Warm Regards,
