Thanks for the reply. What material do you use? What I have been doing is purchasing a cheap plastic kit and then using the plastic parts as a pattern to transfer to wood. I use mostly basswood, white pine or cypress. I then carve or shape the wood and go from there. At first I used only wood for every thing. The last couple I made, I used some wire for the rigging from the bow to the tower and some brass for the propellor. I also use the kit decals to place on the finish wood model. I have been meaning to try one without the use of the plastic kit for a guide, but have yet to begin. Let me know about your project. It is very difficult to find someone that does work from scratch. Most of the ones I have been able to contact are all very nice people, but or more or less in the professional class. I'm just a hobbist and not very technical and that well qualified to discuss deminsion formulas etc.. thank you again and looking forward to hearing from you.
