HI Einsamer,

I thought I gave you his contact info before, maybe I didn't. If not, here is his e-address: info@imodeller.cz

His name is Jiri.

I got this info at Armorama.com. I hope it's up to date.

I was also researching brass rods for wintergarten rails. Dougie sent me this by Jeff LaRue from SubCommittee:

For a 1/32nd scale Type VII Wintergarten -

Top railing - 3/32"
Center railing - 5/64"
Large vertical stanchions - 1/16"
Small vertical stanchions - 3/64"

Mapped back to the full size boat -

Top railing - 3" or 7.5 cm
Center railing - 2.5" or 6.25 cm
Large vertical stanchions - 2.0" or 5 cm
Small vertical stanchions - 1.5" 0r 3.75 cm

The above are estimates based on photo interpretation and access to the U-505.

Converted to a 1/72nd Wintergarten (with closest available wire equivalents) -

Top railing - 0.042" (use 0.047" music wire)
Center railing - 0.035" (use 0.032" music wire)
Large vertical stanchions - 0.025" (use 0.025" music wire)
Small vertical stanchions - 0.020" (use 0.020" music wire)

Take Care,

Jess
