S.S. Oneida sunk 5-4-1943 hit by 2 torpedoes

Hello'
seeking info on S.S. Oneida armt transport service ship from NY to guantonimo bay to austrailia fell out of convoy HG 359 due to rough sea and taking on water sighted U boat almost collided with U boat captain thought he lost sub in rough seas but ship was hit with 2 torpedoes on may 4 1943 sinking in less than 2 min. sinking off caost of st charles VA

What uboats were operating in these waters?
