I believe the doors were made of wood and instead of each door being just one piece these doors were two piece construction with a hinge in the middle and on the right hand side was the main door hinge attached to the door frame. This allowed the door to open or close in such a small, tight area. Since I do not see these doors folded on the outside of the radio and sound room they must fold inwards.
