Hi again Rainer, Intermediate Fuel Oil (IFO) of 180 cst has a specific gravity of around .985 to .99, It is a mix of Bunker C (3600 seconds redwod, SG 1.02 average) and about 20% diesel oil. I can\'t put my hand on a fuel table at home either. For Walter, diesel oil at .82 is very light and is not so good in marine diesels (too dry), .86 is much better for fuel pumps lubrication.
IFO 180 is a standard fuel for marine engines and is burned at about 105 dregre C.
Large slow speed engines burns Bunker C and a typical ship will only carry diesel to flush fuel systems before long shutdowns or to ease maintenance.
I am going back sailing tonight and should have internet sometime during the week. I will have fuel tables then, If it still interest anybody.
Regards, Marc.
