geometric compass

Hello,
I have recently acquired a geometric compass, presumably from a ww2 u boat(??)
Can anyone give me any information on the following.

Anshutz & Co
GMBH
S2450 S no 524 Kiel

There is also a kriegsmarine eagle mark with an M underneath, and a 1 underneath this. Alongside this is a part number 1576

Any information at all would be very much appreciated.
