Hi Walter and Ronaldo,
W., Ronaldo essetially has given the answer to your question.
A fea months ago this was cryptically mentioned by a now old (over 90 and still on the internet) adjudant Heinrich St. to the FDU till the very end of the war. He is in possession of some rather interesting papers, he 'salvaged' from HQ prior to surrender.
His occasional comments on the German U-Bord are both fascinating and exasperating, in that he drops hints, facts, and comments to help one further in the research. Then confirms, if you drew right or wrong conlusion.
R., he did mention the wreck as a type IX boat with lethal cargo aboard, but did not identify it as U180. Am I correct, the boat is in about 70m?
