Dear Mr Robert,
The Regia Marina during WW2 used both electrical and compressed air torpedoes. They were mostly manufactured in Fiume at the Whitehead Torpedo Factory along with those for the torpedo planes (and the German Air Force liked them very much) but also in Livorno (Leghorn) and Taranto. Production was about 3700 units, contact fuses only. They came out in the "standard" bore, i.e. 533 mm but the production of the old 450 mm ones never ceased: too much WW1 hardware still around.
