Never seen this devise mentioned before. I wonder which uboat types had it, and when..?
Also considering the +/- 3.5 degrees restriction the Uboat had to be running more or less straight when using this devise, otherwise it would reach its limits. But then if you are running straight why would you need this at all?
Or is a Uboat constantly twisting back and forth a couple of degrees due to the waves?
Anyhow the mathematics to solve the targets speed from this had to be pretty complex.
