OK, so only four auxiliarymen (@200 pounds each) per fish, times five in the case of the Shinano salvo, or 20 total.
That would surely cause a rise in the bow (broach) as Ned Beach suggested, given the moment arm. Even if counter flooding was immediately applied, the momentum of the rise at the bow would be hard to overcome.
Wonder if the result is written up in the logbook?
