Patrol report #5 states: "Four more properly-timed hits were heard while we were going deep to submergence to evade the escorts."
From the book SHINANO:
"As I continued to peer into the periscope, I saw the second explosion rip the targets hull 8 seconds later"
"I swung the periscope to watch the reaction of the destroyers. I got one more fast look at the carrier."
Apparently firing all six torpedoes from the forward tubes did not bother the Diving Officer's trim, 'cause Enright's periscope observations were not hampered.
