US Fleet Snorkel Conversion speeds

I have read several articles on the US Fleet Snorkel conversions (as compared to the various Guppy conversions) but I haven't seen any statements on what the speeds while snorkeling were. These were in the most part only modified by changing the conning tower into a sail, removal of the deck gun, and the addition of a snorkel.
I know the Type VII could snorkel at about 6 knots and the Type XXI could snorkel at about 10 knots. I'd assume it would be somewhere around these two figures. Anyone have an authoritive figure?
Thanks, Jack.
