use search engine on the site www.uboatarchive.net - in the interrogation reports there
are also some useful informations.

You can also see "U.S. submarines through 1945: an illustrated design history" by
Norman Friedman (available by google books).
In one of appendices there are some informations about fixed-eye-level periscopes.
