Capacity of Type VII diesel engine?

Hi,
I've searched online for this without success, so I hope one of you wise people will know...

What was the cubic capacity of the diesel engines installed in the Type VII of WW2? As I understand it, either the MAN M6V 40/46, or the Krupp F46, but what was the engine capacity?

I saw one in operation a few years ago in Bavaria, and I think I was told it was 23 litres, but I've seen some wildly different figures given for similar engines..

Any ideas?
