Do a google search on the "USS Lunga Point" and you will find some of the information you are looking for. Just go to www.google.com and enter: "USS Lunga Point" (including the quotes) and run the search.

[www.navsource.org] - photo of the USS Lunga Point.

[www.warships1.com] - reunion info for a crew reunion back in 2002. However there is an e-mail address there that might still be good as well as the name of a contact.

[www.uscg.mil] - former crew member that passed away. His family might be able to hook you up with other former crew members.

I stopped at this point but there were still a number of links to look at.

Good luck. She was a good ship and she saw some real action. You can certainly be proud of your uncle's service. He laid it on the line for us.
